How to find a profitable niche in Web3 Twitter (𝕏)

GM Friends 👋

Hope you’ve had an awesome week. In this episode I’ll cover:

🪂 Care-Package: Long Form, Making Work Feel Easy & Reducing Stress
📈 How to find a profitable niche in Web3 Twitter (𝕏)
🧗‍♂️ Building in Public: The Newsletter

🪂 Care-Package:

A weekly package of actionable strategies to help you Grow Faster through content, business & health.

🧲 Attract an audience:

✏️ It’s official. X is pushing Long Form posts. Use this to stand out:

Ever since I started posting Long Form posts consistently, I’ve seen a massive boost in my engagement and followers.

If you’re a beginner and don’t know where to start, this is everything you need to know:

  1. Keep them as short as possible. As soon as people see a big block of text, they stop reading.

  2. Use emojis to highlight different sections. A lot of people will just scan the post for interesting nuggets of gold, make them easy to find.

  3. Ask yourself “What is the reader going to get out of this at the end?” (this could be: Actionable advice, a challenge, a new mindset, etc).

  4. Include yourself in the story. Rather than writing “5 ways to be more productive.” ➡️ Instead write: “I’ve always had a problem with procrastination, but then I made these 5 changes to my routine and now I get twice as much done each week”

  5. Experiment. Don’t write about the same sh*t every day. Today might be a story of getting through a failure to find success. The next day your long form post may be about your thoughts on the latest DeGods updates. Mix it up, avoid being too predictable / boring.

🍄 Become Better:

💪 How to make your work feel easier

Every week a major focus of mine has been how can I improve my processes so I can get more done in less time.

Recently I’ve adapted my mindset to separate work into two categories, and treat each category differently.

Ever since I started approaching work this way, I’ve been able to create more ‘free time’ to focus on the sh*t that matters.

If you adopt this mindset, you’ll find that levelling up as an entrepreneur doesn’t need to feel hard.

I’ve captured it in this post:

🌿 Feel f*cking fantastic:

🔁 Eliminate Context Switching: Get more done & be happier

If you feel overwhelmed by your work, it’s probably not the amount of work, but the way you’re doing it.

I was on a call with a content creator yesterday, and they were asking me about what my daily routine looks like.

One thing that felt normal to me, but was surprising to them, is that I only check my DMs once per day.

(I never let notifications pull me out of my work - I even have them switched off for Twitter (𝕏) on my phone)

Why do I do this?

Our brains are not designed to go back and forth between deep work tasks and answering quick messages all the time.

Work that should take 1 hour, can often take 2 or 3 if you are constantly interrupted.

You need to live life and work on your terms.

You choose when to open yourself up to notifications, you choose when to work on certain tasks.

If you don’t do this, you are at the whim of the world, rather than in control of your own world.

Actions:

1️⃣ Turn off notifications during deep work time

2️⃣ Where possible, batch all similar tasks to the same time periods of work (e.g. I do Twitter content writing & newsletter writing on the same day).

📈 How to find a profitable niche in Web3 Twitter (𝕏)

Not all Twitter businesses / niches are created equal.

Most people fall into a niche by accident.

I’m lucky with Web3 Jobs, that it all started because so many people were asking me for a job.

But not everyone is lucky enough to fall into a niche, and even fewer think about how it can turn into a business in the months & years to come.

So before you pick your niche, you need to make sure you have Content Market Fit.

🕵️‍♂️ Here’s how to find it:

✅ What the audience wants: You’ve written about it, and people like it, you can grow from it.

✅ What you like writing about: If you don’t enjoy it, you will burn out and quit before it becomes a business.

What you can turn into a business: There needs to be a business model that goes beyond just being paid for sponsored posts if you want to turn it into a career.

Example - Me with Web3 Jobs:

1️⃣ I get messages from readers saying that the content is super helpful and they enjoy it.

2️⃣ I find it fascinating to research, learn about and write about.

3️⃣ There are opportunities to generate revenue through job postings & recruitment.

This has Content Market Fit ✅

Other profitable niche’s that have all 3:

  • How to grow on 𝕏: Can turn into a coaching & course business. (Zaimiri is a great example of this).

  • How to ghostwrite: Kelano has done an awesome job of turning this into a ghostwriting business.

  • Share insights on the Web3 markets: Turns into advisory positions & consulting. Wale is the perfect example of this. (This niche is super competitive, you need to be at the top to perform well in this category).

Whenever you think you’ve found a niche, test it against this model.

That’s how you find the massive opportunities that most people miss out on.

🧗 Started from the bottom now we’re here…

If you’re new here, one of the core principles of the content I share is that a newsletter is the most linear and simple business you can start in Web3. It has high sponsorship revenue and can go from being a side hustle to a full-time business in under a year. I am building this newsletter in public, to share the progress each week so that you can be a part of the journey. Now let’s get into it 👇

This Week:
Subscribers: 3,495 (+0 Subscribers)
Open Rate: 42.9%

Tracking my goals:

🚂 Improve the graphic design of this newsletter: Paused until 4,000 subs.

🚂 3,495 / 4,000 Subscribers: Hey! 🫵, if you’re reading this, that means you’ve read the whole newsletter. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that and how awesome you are. This is my first week with zero new subscribers. So, this week, I have something to ask you. I need you to swoop in like an Avenger…

My request: If you’ve been enjoying this newsletter, share the link below with one friend who you think will get value out of it:

If you’ve taken the time to read this, thanks again for being awesome.

It takes a lot of work each week to make this newsletter and I love having you be a part of the journey.

Have a great weekend 🌿
