🎨 This is what can happen when you show your work

Earlier this week, I saw this post:

To most people, this might be just another post in their feed.

To me, this spoke to me immediately.

I’m going through the growing pains of running a business that is now outgrowing what I can manage personally, and I need help.

As someone experiencing that pain, this post by Kiki immediately caught my attention.

I am looking for this role right now, but I hadn’t taken the time to post about it.

Now she is fully on my radar, and this is a post I have come back to several times this week.

When you’re making content as a freelancer or someone who runs a business,

It doesn’t matter HOW MANY people see your content.

What matters is WHO sees your content.

Respect to Kiki for this awesome post.

It’s definitely inspired me for how I can post about our services.

🍄 Become Better:

📈 I asked Pix how he monetises his content, this is what he said.

Pix is a magician 🧙‍♂️

Every week he pumps out threads that get millions of views,

He’s one of the most respected and high demand creators on the timeline,

And yet…

He still has time for monetisation.

I used to look at him and think…

“This makes absolutely no sense to me. How does he have so much time to make awesome content, and yet he’s still able to monetise and be FULL TIME in Web3…”

So earlier this week, I asked him…

“How do you do it?”

The answer was simpler than I expected.

Pix monetises in bursts.

What he does is:

1️⃣ He’ll spend one month aggressively selling multi-month deals

2️⃣ Then for the next 3-6 months, he just focusses on the high-growth content.

A part of his secret sauce 🍯 is that he tells the brands:

You can currently see how fast I am growing. I won’t raise the price as the months go on under this current arrangement. So you’ll get the benefit of my growth with no extra cost.”

This is very different to how most creators approach brand deals.

Most of us spend every single week going back and forth with brands in our inboxes

Whilst trying to manage the workload of making content.

This leads to us…

❌ Constantly wasting time on negotiation
❌ Forgetting to post because we were spending too much time working
❌ Dropping the quality of our content, which is the reason we’re valuable in the first place.

It’s a negative feedback loop…

So how do you be like Pix?

Step 1️⃣: Figure out what your 3x best available revenue sources are right now

  • If you’re a mid-sized creator, this is likely creator programs such as what we’ve built with Bricktopians, and other programs such as Creators Nexus, Play Ember, Persona, etc.

  • This also may be KOL managers that you enjoy working with.

  • If you’re a larger creator, this likely involves negotiating one on one ambassadorships with brands (pro-tip on this, look for brands who are currently announcing their first ambassadors and see if you can get in, especially if one of your friends is an ambassador).

Step 2️⃣: Lock in on these, and commit to ignoring all the other noise for the next 3 months.

  • This means every day checking those creator programs, KOL managers & brands that you are an ambassador with, and ignoring the rest.

Step 3️⃣: Commit to improving your quality and focussing on growth.

  • This includes relationships as much as it does followers.

Step 4️⃣: At the end of the 3 months, re-evaluate your revenue sources and your current value, and repeat Step 1️⃣

If you do this, you will be able monetise actively as a creator WHILST focussing on growth.

Shoutout to Pix for sharing the alpha.

🌿 Feel f*cking fantastic:

👃 One simple change I use to optimise my sleep.

Nose strips.

That’s the answer.

I’m obsessed with getting a high quality sleep.

When I get a great night sleep, I feel like I can take on the entire world.

So I’ve been testing a number of different methods for getting a perfect night’s sleep, and I’ve now found the answer (that works for me).

It’s these:

Without going into too much detail, these nose strips help you breath so much better at night.

And the results for me is that every morning I use them, I wake up feeling fresher and more alert.

My whoop (heart rate/sleep monitor) also tells me that me sleep is much deeper and higher quality.

If you’re someone that struggles with sleep (or you don’t get enough sleep), I highly recommend trying this for yourself.

The productivity gains are insane.

Honourable mentions to things that have also helped with my sleep:

  1. Having these high-oxygen production plants in my room: Snake Plants

  2. Getting a humidifier: I use this one

Have a great weekend friends 🫡
