🎣 One of the best hooks I’ve ever seen in a thread, let’s break it down

This is not Web3 related, but it is one of the best opening tweets of a thread that I’ve ever seen and there’s a lot to learn from it,

So I wanted to jump in and show you how you can steal these strategies for yourself.

This opening tweet does 3x things perfectly:

1️⃣ It capitalises on a massive news story (Ronaldo investing in WHOOP)

2️⃣ It hits you immediately with a big jaw dropping stat: “Ronaldo Spends $1,000,000+ a year on his health” - This captures the attention of the reader.

But both of these above were purely to draw you in for…

3️⃣ A super simple deliverable that essentially says: “Here’s his exercise routine”

The way most people write a thread is they do one of two things:

1. They just share the news on the WHOOP announcement (boring, and everyone is doing it).

2. Or they just share his exercise routine: “E.g. Ronaldo spends $1m on his body, here’s his exercise routine” (also boring).

What Michael has done is he’s given you the 1-2 punch on why you should care (Big news story + Jaw dropping stat)

And then he gives you a really simple deliverable (that he’s built curiosity around through the first three lines).

This content feels so easy to read that it’s almost like TikTok (and he focusses on keeping the rest of the thread short to match this)

This is an insanely powerful framework.
