NFT-NYC hit different this year... 💯
GM 👋
Massive week at NFT-NYC
If you couldn’t make it out here, this episode is for you.
Today we’ll be diving into:
🗽 NFT-NYC
📖 Diary of a Founder: An interview with NFT-GOD
🎯 Building the Newsletter
Sidenote before getting into it:
One thing I’ve been super proud of this week is how well our collection Bricktopians has held up with the latest ETH pump.
We’ve been seeing heaps of projects get wiped out over the past few weeks.
Whereas a week ago we were at 0.09 ETH, and right now we’re at 0.12 ETH (+33%).
I want to say special shoutout to the Brick team for the awesome work, and a thank you to the many of you I met at NFT NYC who bought a Bricktopian.
Let’s get it 💯
🗽 NFT-NYC: Very different to last year… (in a good way)
Flashback to 2022… 💥
The first signs of the market falling have begun…
Goblintown is the hottest project in the space…
And ApeFest has a lineup so large that people are flying from all over the world just for a chance to get in…
There’s an atmosphere of hype, dread and mania in every direction.
Doodles is hosting a pop-up that has lines around the block every day of the week.
You can’t take a step through Times Square without seeing NFT projects deploying capital to lay their mark on the landscape.
Fast forward less than a year later to 2023…
…Empty
Speakers speaking to empty rooms, and the only signs of an NFT being the occasional spotting of an MAYC hoodie on the subway.
But you saw it all over Twitter right?
So where was the real NFT-NYC?
It was everywhere, but not in the same way.
This year it was driven by creators and emerging projects.
Instead of being about hype, airdrops and celebrity performances…
It was about meeting the people you’ve been speaking to online for the past year, and actually spending time together as friends.
Everywhere I looked, the Azuki community members were blowing each other up, connecting for the first time in person.
Met up with some of the @Azuki x @BEANZOfficial squad in the concrete garden. ⛩️🫘

People who spoke to each other every week through spaces were able to actually sit down for multiple hours together in person.
Collaborations that would have never happened were popping up left right and centre.
My favourite event of the week was a coffee put on by NFT GOD, in which I got to meet more creators than I ever could on a Twitter space.
A lot happened today.
I have much to share with you Monday
But in the meantime thank you to everyone who showed up and gave me one of the best days of my life. (Even you @Sanza_eth )

My friend SHIV captured the week perfectly when he said to me:
“NFT-NYC isn’t about the event itself, it’s a defined time for us to all meet in the one place at the same time. That’s what it’s really about.”
He is so correct.
This year was about the people of Web3.
Those that are building, creating content and adding value in their own unique way.
If you missed out and you want to go to the event next year, my BIGGEST recommendation is to start making content now.
Last year, I found it hard to get the most out of the event. But this time I had already made friends before I got to NYC.
If you put the work in now, you’ll enjoy events like this so much more.
See you there next year 🫡
Diary of a Founder: 3 Questions for NFT GOD
NFT GOD was the reason I started my content journey.
After seeing him as one of the early thread writers, I wrote my first thread in July of 2022, and went on to write 100 threads in 100 days.
This was the foundation for my early growth as a creator.
After getting the chance to have lunch together, I did a quick interview with NFT GOD, asking him 3 questions for emerging creators.
Check it out here:

🎯 Building the Newsletter
If you’re new here, one of the core principles of the content I share is that a newsletter is the most linear and simple business you can start in Web3. It has high sponsorship revenue and can go from being a side hustle to a full-time business in under a year. I am building this newsletter in public, to share the progress each week so that you can be a part of the journey. Now let’s get into it 👇
I’ve gotten back into writing threads again, and now the growth has continued. Let’s keep it up 💪
This Week:
Subscribers: 2,142 (+48 subscribers)
Open Rate: 46.1%
Quick Recap on tracking my current goals:
🚧 Get my newsletter earlier in the week: I’m working on a new structure for how I create content each week. This should help me send emails earlier in the week.
✅ 2,000 / 2,000 Subscribers: (Complete)
🚂 Expand the content categories: Still cooking.
An awesome week. Onto the next 💯
