📈 How Pix gained almost 10,000 followers in June

If you haven’t seen it by now…

Pix is next up.

I would not be surprised if he’s at 100k by the end of the year.

He’s written back to back to back to back to back threads that have gotten him almost 10k followers in June alone.

And he’s #1 on Inspect right now:

So what happened?

As a Web3 content creator, I have to be honest…

…I thought threads were dead 💀

But Pix has single handedly brought back the meta and he has done it whilst staying true to Web3 content (which seemed impossible).

⚔️ His weapon of choice — Writing multi-million impression threads like this:

So how has he broken through where others have failed? What’s his formula?

…For the secret sauce, only Pix is the one who knows 🧪

BUT, there’s a lot we can learn from his success.

📝 What I’ve learnt from Pix:

1️⃣ The word “This” is a really powerful opener to threads. It captures attention immediately and creates strong pacing for the hook. You’ll notice that Mr Beast opens almost every video with the word “This”

2️⃣ Put videos inside your threads. Every post from Pix is like a montage, with the perfect highlights boosting each tweet in the thread.

3️⃣ Tell stories. His focus on founder stories (particularly the rise and fall) is such a perfect story arc for any piece of content. It forces the reader to complete the entire thread to get the payoff.

4️⃣ Focus on what you see working elsewhere. You guys may have noticed that you’re seeing a lot of content that normally wouldn’t be on your feed. For me, I’m seeing a heap of soccer highlights, even though I’m not into soccer. But this is a clue. This is the algorithms way of telling you the formats it wants to push right now. The clues on how to create new metas are right in front of us.

🍄 Become Better:

🤝 We just signed our next 3 clients

My main focus at the moment has been getting content creators in Bricktopians paid.

When we support creators, we create a flywheel where:
👉 Creators join us
👉 We nurture them to help them grow
👉 As more creators join, brands want to work with those creators
👉 We get our creators paid
👉 They tell their friends
👉 The cycle repeats.

We’ve been grinding hard at this the past 2 months and we’re now starting to see the hard work pay off.

We’ve got 3 brands signed up to work with our creators over the July and August period, and all of these deals are multi-post deals (some going for 3 months).

I want to give a massive shoutout and thank you to the Bricktopians team and our creators for making our ecosystem awesome.

🌿 Feel f*cking fantastic:

⌚️ I bought a WHOOP (like a Fitbit, Apple Watch, etc — but better for lifestyle). Here’s my experience so far:

If you’re not into health optimising, you can definitely skip this article because it’s a longer one. But this has made a big impact on my lifestyle.

Earlier this month, I bought a WHOOP.

If you don’t know what that is, it’s a band you wear around your wrist that monitors your Sleep, Recovery & Strain throughout the day.

I bought it because I am a terrible sleeper. It’s my one achilles heel that has always held me back from recovering fully and being in attack mode every day.

In this section I won’t give you a full review, I think there’s some awesome honest breakdowns out there like this one that I checked out before buying:

But I will tell you how it’s changed my behaviour and my experience of life so far:

1️⃣ I’m getting to bed earlier (and using my phone less in bed), because I want to see a higher sleep score.

I’ve already seen an impact in the one area that I bought it for: sleep.

When I first got it, I had poor habits and was finally able to see how this was affecting my body. On the WHOOP this showed me a low sleep score.

As someone who’s super competitive, I wanted to beat my score. So I started getting more disciplined around how I prepare for bed.

Now I’ve been smashing my scores, and my prize is that I feel great.

2️⃣ I stopped letting people book late meetings with me.

Late meetings kill my sleep. And I now have an objective measurement that tells me that.

The biggest change from how I was living life a month ago, is that I don’t let anyone book a meeting past 7:30pm anymore.

This alone has been a game changer.

3️⃣ I need to buy the accessories so I can wear it during sport

I play in a basketball league every week but you can’t wear wristbands while you play.

WHOOP has an underwear accessory for this so that you can wear it invisibly. But I don’t currently own it, which is a bit annoying because it means my tracking is out of sync with the exercise that I do.

If you’re someone who plays organised sport, I’d recommend purchasing an accessory to stay completely in sync with your recovery.

4️⃣ When I change a habit, I see the result.

It’s not just getting to bed early.

I’m starting to see how all my habits affect my health, including: What I eat, when I eat, if I work late, how much I exercise, etc.

I can see if I’m holding onto stress, or if I’ve had multiple stressful days in a row, and how all of these variables affect things like my resting heart rate (essentially how healthy I am at the moment).

I don’t overthink these variables, but having an easy way of monitoring my body and seeing if a decision was positive or negative, is now helping me make better decisions around my lifestyle.

🇬🇧 On a personal note: I’m moving to London in July

If you’re in Europe or the UK, definitely hit me up in the Twitter DMs.

I’m looking forward to meeting many of you in person for the first time and being on a MUCH better timezone.

See you soon friends, have a great weekend ☀️
