Higher Engagement, saving time & feeling motivated 🏆

GM Friends 👋

Hope you’ve had an awesome week. In this episode I’ll cover:

🪂 Care-Package: Getting More Engagement, How I use GPT & Boosting Motivation
🧗‍♂️ Building in Public: The Newsletter

🪂 Care-Package:

A weekly package of actionable strategies to help you Grow Faster through content, business & health.

🧲 Attract an audience:

❤️ How to use “I” and “YOU” to get more engagement on your content.

We all know that authenticity is the key to standing out on Twitter.

And yet, so many people just promote generic information.

I’ve spoken a lot in this newsletter about how to make your content more personal by inserting yourself into the story.

Example:

❌ “Here’s 3 changes that can massively boost productivity”

VS

✅ “I made these 3 changes, and my productivity sky rocketed”

But there’s a way to make this even stronger. It’s the dance between “I” and “YOU”

The goal is to make the content authentic and believable (by talking about your own experience)

And make it relevant to the reader (by telling them why they should care and what it will do for them).

The way to do this: Start by talking about yourself, and THEN tell the reader what they should do and what results they can expect.

Example:

I used to be stuck at 2,000 followers. But then I made these 3 changes and I started growing every single week.

If you’re stuck right now. Here’s how you can get started:

  • [tip 1]

  • [tip 2]

  • [tip 3]

My challenge to you: Add one of these to your routine each week.

If you start right now, you’ll hit your goal of 5,000+ before the end of the year.”

🍄 Become Better:

🤖 I’ve been using GPT for sheets to save me several hours every week.

⭐️ Btw, I f*cking hate using spreadsheets. But if you read how I’m using sheets plus AI for creative work, you’ll see how you can use this combination to shortcut the work you’re doing right now.

The problem that I needed to solve:

Each week I hire a freelancer to research 100+ jobs for my Web3 Jobs newsletter.

Every job needs to be categorised.

She doesn’t have enough context to categorise them, and I don’t have enough time.

🏆️ In comes ChatGPT for Sheets:

Now, I copy and paste this prompt into sheets…

It loads…

And like magic 🪄

All 100+ jobs in the sheet are neatly categorised in seconds, without any additional hours from me

So why should you care 🫵

There is A LOT of work that you do right now, where you need to give an opinion, categorise, simplify, give a description of, etc.

Across MANY different pieces of information or ideas.

If you use GPT for Sheets, you can copy all of that in, and get it done in seconds 💪

Your boss will think you’re a wizard… 🧙‍♂️

⭐️ Pro-tip if you try to install it: The first app that Google will show you is a paid app. Ignore that one, use the free plug-in called GPT for Sheets.

(This video shows you how to install it. This still requires a paid GPT account. If you feel lost, I’m happy to answer questions in my DMs)

🌿 Feel f*cking fantastic:

💭 “Do something today that you’ll thank yourself for tomorrow”

This sentence has guided my decision making for the past week, and it has been incredibly impactful.

Everyone says think longterm, and that’s important. But…

Whether it be going to the gym or starting that business, if you’re thinking 6-12 months ahead,

You can feel quite detached from the outcome and demotivated because of it.

Instead, by thinking…

What can I do right now that the version of myself tomorrow will be grateful for? 🤔

You end up automatically making those small decisions that compound.

“Should I stay up and watch that Netflix show, or get an early night?”

What will myself from tomorrow want

“Should I finish that last action on my to-do list, or stop working 30 mins early today?”

What will myself from tomorrow want

Not only is this helpful as motivation, it also helps you decide which tasks to focus on.

Now, when I get to the end of the day, and there’s 3-4 items still on my to-do list that I didn’t complete, I ask myself:

“Which of these will I be most grateful that I completed when I wake up tomorrow.”

If you’ve been struggling with motivation or prioritisation, test it for yourself, it’s a game changer.

🧗 Started from the bottom now we’re here…

If you’re new here, one of the core principles of the content I share is that a newsletter is the most linear and simple business you can start in Web3. It has high sponsorship revenue and can go from being a side hustle to a full-time business in under a year. I am building this newsletter in public, to share the progress each week so that you can be a part of the journey. Now let’s get into it 👇

This Week:
Subscribers: 3,565 (+45 Subscribers)
Open Rate: 42.1%

Tracking my goals:

🚂 Improve the graphic design of this newsletter: Paused until 4,000 subs.

🚂 3,565 / 4,000 Subscribers: Strong week of growth.

✅ Update the welcome email for new subscribers: (Complete)

Have an awesome weekend 💪
