The cabals and business opportunities of Web3 👁🗨
GM Friends 👋
It’s been an awesome week of growth. In this episode I’ll cover:
🪂 Care-Package: Networking, The Cabal & Managing Burnout
🚧 Building in Public: Web3 Jobs
🪂 Care-Package:
A weekly package of actionable strategies to help you Grow Faster through content, business & health.
🧲 Attract an audience:
🤝 How to network in Web3
It’s cliche, but it’s true.
Your network is your net-worth.
And most people don’t know how to network in Web3 (which is how you get all the best jobs, opportunities, etc.)
If you feel like everyone else is connecting in Web3, and you’re sitting on the sidelines. Steal my playbook and start getting involved:
Step 1. Speak on Spaces
Followers don’t matter on spaces, what you say is what makes you stand out.
Be active and engaging, and people will seek YOU out.
Step 2. Follow people up after the spaces
If you resonated with what someone said, send them a message after the space.
Most people jump on a space, leave and then go on with their day. This is how to be forgotten.
Follow-up, stand out and you will be remembered.
Step 3. Add people that you follow-up with to a ‘list’ on Twitter (X)
The next step is to make sure you stay in touch.
If you don’t add these people to a list, I guarantee you will forget them.
What I do is I make a list and pin it to my home feed.
Once a day I check this list and engage with their content. This keeps the relationship warm.
Step 4. Reach out when you have something of value to provide
You heard about a sponsorship opportunity? Send it to them.
You saw a job that they’d be perfect for? Send it to them.
You enjoyed their content? Tell them why.
This is a warm way to reach out and is the right way to open the conversation to get on a call.
Step 5. Stay in touch
Once you’ve had a call. Make sure to stay in touch.
Send them a message every month or two to say hey, particularly when you see them post.
Whenever you have value to provide, send it through.
You’ll be amazed at how many opportunities come up months later that you never expected.
⭐️ Pro tip: Don’t underestimate smaller accounts. Some of the best opportunities that I’ve experienced have come from people with less than 2k followers. Reach out to everyone that you find interesting.
🍄 Become Better:
👁🗨 Cabals and the business opportunities of Web3
There are more opportunities out there than you realise.
From what I hear, it seems that you need to do three things:
1️⃣ Hit 10,000 followers
2️⃣ Get active on spaces
3️⃣ Use the networking tips in the section above.
I say no to almost everything.
The main things I consider is how an opportunity aligns with my time, focus & brand.
Right now there are 10x the opportunities available than there were only 3 months ago.
There are more brands launching than ever before, and not enough content creators to go around (even though it feels super saturated).
The market is truly ramping up, and if you can grind now to get ahead, the opportunities can be yours.
🌿 Feel f*cking fantastic:
👑 Sleep is King
I’ve learnt a lot about myself in the past week.
I accepted a lot of spaces / calls at midnight and then 7am the next morning.
Having less sleep has made the work feel 10x harder even though I haven’t gotten more 'done' than usual.
✅ Good sleep = Hard work feels easy.
❌ Bad sleep = Easy work feels hard.
🚧 Building in Public: Web3 Jobs
It’s been an awesome week for our jobs Community.
We’ve now hit 1,500+ members,
And we’re getting more and more success stories sent to us from people who have gotten interviews & jobs,
But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.
There’s a lot that I want to improve with how the Discord works so this is what I’m focussing on next:
1️⃣ Growing through collaboration
Yesterday I ran a test and got a friend from an emerging project to post our Discord in his community.
One DM, 3 minutes of conversation, and a single post got us 100 new members in 24 hours.
This is my playbook going forward for the coming weeks.
Not overthinking it, growing through relationships.
(Also if YOU know of someone that we could partner with, I would love to hear from you. Just reply to this email.)
2️⃣ Getting more high quality jobs posted
When you start a community, the great thing is that people within the community share jobs & opportunities with each other.
But the amount of jobs currently in there is not enough to keep people coming back.
For now I will manually take on the load and post jobs that I personally find through my research.
But this is something that I’ll be exploring building a more automated solution around.
