🪂 Care-Package:

A weekly package to help you Grow Faster 💯

🧲 Attract an audience:

When writing longform tweets, make sure to use a “cliff hanger” before the Show More button, so that people read them.

Here’s an awesome summary by Nook on how to do it:

🍄 Become Better:

How to run a profitable agency or solo business.

A massive ambition for people in Web3 is to turn their passion into a business. A great example of a solopreneur in our space is NFT GOD who has been able to quit his job and grow his business full time.

If you’re starting your own solo business, whether that be consulting, design, social media or community management, make sure you start by checking out this workshop.

🌿 Feel f*cking fantastic:

If you feel like you’re doing a lot of work, but not making any progress, read this.

“If you don’t prioritize, everything seems urgent and important. If you define the single most important task for each day, almost nothing seems urgent or important. Oftentimes, it’s just a matter of letting little bad things happen (return a phone call late and apologize, pay a small late fee, lose an unreasonable customer, etc.) to get the big important things done.

The answer to overwhelm is not spinning more plates—or doing more—it’s defining the few things that can really fundamentally change your business and life.” - Tim Ferris

I’m now applying this more consciously, and I’ve found that this mindset is leading me to get bigger results on the things that matter.

🏦 Why ETH is the only crypto I hold

We’re in an intense market at the moment.

One day it feels like a bear, the next day it feels like a bull (and today in particular, the crypto market has been awesome).

But as I now enter my 8th year of being involved in the blockchain space, and my 6th year as an Ethereum holder,

I wanted to take a moment to share my story and why ETH is the only cryptocurrency that I hold in 2023.

My obsession with Ethereum began in 2016 when I read the book The Blockchain Revolution.

Smart Contracts?

Artists getting paid royalties on the blockchain? (Yes this happened all the way back in 2016).

I was obsessed.

As someone that was learning to build apps, it was the first time that I’d seen a new technology that had almost zero competition for builders and infinite new possibilities.

Two of my favourite usecases were seeing people start decentralised versions of Uber and AirBnB that were run by a dApp, where there was no commission going to a company. Instead drivers would get paid more, and riders wouldn’t have to pay a fee. Everyone wins.

These startups went on to fail due to many of the reasons that we see NFT projects fail - they couldn’t onboard people to use Web3 payments.

After months studying the technology, I made my first Ethereum investment at the beginning of 2017.

And again in 2020 after the COVID dip I doubled down and went all in on Ethereum.

Fast forward to 2023.

I’ve ridden the wave through bull market, bear market, bull market again, and now bear again.

I chased new coins, “Ethereum killers”, momentum trades. You name it, I’ve tried it.

In those 6 years of testing everything, learning from successes and mistakes, it’s become clear to me that Ethereum is the only horse that I back in crypto.

I don’t expect you to agree with my thesis, and I don’t expect you to purchase Ethereum after reading this article.

But I want to share my thinking behind how I look at the market, in hopes that it gives you a perspective to analyse things through.

🐂 Why I’m bullish

  • Ethereum has by far the most developers building on its network. More developers means more talent, better products & more innovation.

  • Whenever an emerging smart contract platform gains traction, it is often labeled the “Ethereum Killer”. To me, if the ecosystem is working to beat Ethereum, that demonstrates how established it is as a powerhouse.

  • To build on the point above, Ethereum has household brand name recognition. Kind of like if you mention NFTs to someone outside of Web3, they will ask “Oh, do you mean those monkey things?”. It is much rarer to find someone outside of Web3 who knows Solana or Cardano.

  • Layer 2s are scaling the technology, and the Ethereum foundation are progressive at supporting improvements to the chain over time.

  • It is the largest driver of massive new industries that have been born as a result of its chain, including NFTs & DeFi.

  • I actually use it. This is the most important factor in my opinion. Whatever it is that you invest in, you need to actually be a user of to understand its benefits and its limitations. As an NFT founder, it is at the centre of everything that I do. Whether it be launching the NFTs themselves, or smart contract based utilities that we have released since creating Bricktopians.

Outside of my personal experience, as an investor what I would pay most attention to is where the developer talent is. It’s kind of like social media platforms. Wherever the best creators are is where the attention shifts to. We see this a lot with platforms such as YouTube rewarding creators heavily because they understand the value of the talent on their platform.

Yes, there are blockchains that have demonstrated themselves to be more scalable, faster and cheaper to use. But until they attract the majority of the talent, the products built on them will likely not catch up to Ethereum any time soon.

Now, this is my approach to investing, and I encourage you to not take it at face value. Instead I want you to challenge my thinking, and use it as a starting point to figure out what’s right for you.

Timing the market and buying at the right entry point can feel like an impossible task. But timing doesn’t matter as much if you are betting on something that has stood the test of time and has a long future ahead of it.

Find your longterm hold, and feel comfortable knowing that you’re betting on a strong thesis, not a short term trade.

Good luck friends, and as always NFA.
